I have noticed when researching York County, Va in the 1860 census, there are a lot of omissions. In fact, there is only one batch of census records, only 24 pages, which only deals with the residents of the area of Poquoson. The 1860 Agricultural census is more complete, but only lists farmers, not households.
Does anyone know why MOST of the County's residents are missing from the 1860 census? Was this lost, or were these people simply never enumerated?
