I am seeking information on William Watkins, born about 1810, and married to Eliza Linton, both of York County, VA. William's son was Jeremiah Watkins of Poquoson, VA. Jeremiah, my Great Grandfather, was married to Martha Clara Moore. William Watkins appears on the York County Census up until 1860. William Watkins was 41 years old in the 1850 York County Census, and he and the members of his family are listed as follows: William Watkins, 41, a Farmer, Eliza (Linton), age 28, Henry Watkins, age13 (later killed at Sharpsburg, MD, 17 Sep 1862, Co. F, 32nd Virginia INF Regiment/have a picture of Henry as well as his death's documentation), George Watkins, 11, James T. Watkins, 8, and Jeremiah Watkins, 4. My research leads me to believe that William Watkins and Anne Rollins/Rawlings (Charles Parish) may be the parents of 1810 William Watkins. I have a copy of their marriage certificate. If anyone has additional information on my York County family, it would be greatly appreciated.
