Michael Wayne Gibson KINGSPORT — Michael Wayne Gibson, 39, passed away Wednesday (April 22, 2009) in Kingsport.
He was born in Sullivan County and graduated from Gate City High School in 1987. He attended Roadside Mission Baptist Church.
Surviving are his daughter, Kayla Danielle Gibson, Duffield, Va.; son, Tyler Wayne Gibson, Duffield, Va.; stepdaughter, Molly Godsey, Kingsport; stepsons, Drew Compton, Weber City and Drake Kennedy, Weber City; parents, Charlie and Juanita Gibson, Snowflake community; sisters, Amy Gibson, Nickelsville, Va., Kim Gibson Hammonds, Sherry Gibson Layne and husband, Rob, Tammy Gibson Jennings and husband, Carl, all of Kingsport; nieces, Cheyenna Campbell and Morgan Campbell, both of Nickelsville, Va.; nephews, T.J. Casteel, Cody Hammonds, Garrett Layne and Gregory Layne, all of Kingsport; great niece, Gracie Casteel, Kingsport; special friends, Paul Gibson, Larry Bishop, Jessee McDavid, Grant Moore, Scott Arnold, Nikki Lane, Steve and Jill Warner and Diamond.
Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Colonial Funeral Home and anytime at the residence of his parents on Mineral Hill Road, Snowflake community.
&n bsp; Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bob R. Lane officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Gibson Family Cemetery, Snowflake community. Friends planning to attend the graveside services are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Paul Gibson, Grant Moore, Scott Arnold, Cody Hammonds, Larry Bishop, Steve Warner, Jessee McDavid, Tyler Gibson and Tim Carter .
