I need information on Enoch MOORE who lived in Russell County from about 1797 to 1840 or later. He is 80-90 years old on the Russell census of 1840, and not there on the 1850 census, so presumed to have died in Russell Co. in that time period.

Enoch first showed up in Washington Co. in 1782, married Mary Whitley d/o Robert Whitley in 1786, and no records are found again until Russell County tax lists fron 1797 onwards. As he wasn't found on the tax lists when Russell was first formed from Washington Co. in 1793, or for the next three years, he must have moved away, and later returned. Or maybe he was not in the portion of Washington Co. that became Russell Co. until 1797.
