Dixie V. Dye
Dixie Violet Dye, 84, of Swords Creek, died May 25 in a Richlands hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Russell County and was a daughter of the late Luther and Bertha Ray Hess, Both Russell county natives.
She had made her home in the Swords Creek area most of her life and was a member of the Horton Ridge Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard C. Dye: two daughters, Oma Gay and Ruby C. Dye; one son, Luther Daniel Dye; and one grandson.
Survivors; daughter, Delcie Marie Dye of Swords Creek; sons, Homer C. Dye, Curtis E. Dye and James A. Dye, all of Cedar Bluff, Clarence E. Dye of Swords Creek; sisters, Mary Plaster and Gladys Horton, Both of Raven, Juanita Meade of Richlands, Helen Jones of King, N.C., Mrs Olaf Taylor of Barberton, Oh., Peggy Bailey of Akron, Oh.; Brother, Larry Hess of Swords Creek; 19 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one great-great-great grandchild.
The funeral was conducted May 27 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with Rev. Jessie Miller, Rev. Ralph Horton and Rev. Dennis White officiating.
Interment followed in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill.
Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands was in charge of Arrangements.
