My gggrandfather was James Matison Beard, known as Matt. He was a police chief of Buena Vista who was killed in the line of duty in 1933 by a prisoner who managed to grab his gun.His son Emmett was my mother's grandfather. I am looking for info on his wife, my great grandmother. She was known as Kate or Katie and her maiden name was Hamilton. It's possible her full name was Katherine Douglas Hamilton, but I just have never been able to find anything on her before her marriage to Emmett. Any info on her or her ancestors would be greatly appreciated.
