Looking for parents of Rawleigh, Samuel & John BRYANT - brothers. Samuel was born 12 April 1766 and died 14 April 1858 in Shelby CO., KY. Rawleigh also died, 1815 in Shelby CO., KY. John stayed in Richmond Coo. - or at least that is where he was in December 1814 when Rawleigh wrote his will. Rawleigh, John & Thomas BRYANT are found in Moratico Twp., Richmond Co., VA 1790 Census. Samuel & Thomas BRYANT are found in 1800 in Shelby CO., KY Census. The 1810 Census yields Betsy, John, John, Joseph, Rawleigh, Thadeus, Thomas & William BRYANT in Richmond Co., VA; and Peter, Samuel & Thomas BRYANT in Shelby CO., KY. I know from Rawleigh Bryant's will that Samuel (of Shelby CO., KY) & John (of Richmond Co., VA) are his brothers; are Thomas and Peter also brothers? Who are their parents? I also have will of Samuel BRYANT and other info from Shelby County

I am a descendant of Peter Bryant b. 1760, Richmond Co, VA d. 1833 Shelby Co, KY. There surely is a family connection between Peter and Rawleigh's family. Peter mentioned an Uncle James and a brother John in his Rev War pension app.
Have you tied Peter into your Bryants yet?

I do have a copy of Peter's will, but I have not been able to find a connection between him and my Bryant's, though there surely must be one. I do have information that the father of Rawleigh, Samuel and John was Rawleigh BRYANT, Sr. and a woman named Violet. Rawleigh Sr. also had a son, Joseph and a daughter, Winifred. Rawleigh Sr. was born 8 Sept. 1742 and was the son of Joseph BRYANT and Dorcas, who also had a child named Jeremiah. Dorcas was Joseph's 2nd wife. His 1st wife was Rebecca - son Jesse. His 3rd wife was Judith, children: Jonathon, Rebecca, Aga, Rachel, Robert, and Lettice.

I, too, am a descendant of Peter BRYANT and am trying to connect him to his family in Richmond County. According to his Revolutionary War pension file, Peter was born in Richmond County on March 4, 1760. His wife's name was Nancy _________. Peter returned to Virginia after the war and then came to Shelby County, KY. Peter and Nancy had eight children. He had an uncle named James and a brother named John who died in Garrard County, KY in 1833. Peter's eldest son, John BRYANT, married Nancy BAILEY in Shelby County, KY on December 22, 1812.

Hi
I'm anxious to speak with you about the Bryants of Shelby County.

Do you have a copy of Peter's will? I descend from John W. Bryant who married Eliza Ford in Shelby Co. in 1825.

I believe that John is the son of Raleigh who left a will in Shelby Co in 1814.

Thank you
