The only information I've been able to find about ~ The Princess Anne and Virginia Beach Telephone Company ~ was a brief writeup in the newspaper dated 1999. It stated that this phone company began in the Princess Anne Courthouse area in 1899 and expanded to Virginia Beach in the early 1900's. Eventually it merged with the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company and moved to 22nd Street in Va Beach in 1927. Does anyone have any additional information?

the way I understand it is sometime in the late 30's my mother's cousin started a phone company in the pungo area and later became continental and then merged with the main telephone co. at the time I think it was bell atlantic. my mother's cousin was Kermit Land,Sr.
