Danny R. Seitter, 43, left this life on August 3, 2010. Originally from Chesterfield, Mr. Seitter had built his life in Powhatan for the past 17 years.
Danny, a devoted father, could always be seen around the baseball field and basketball court.

A coach for many years, he participated in several leagues, Huguenot Little League, PYAA, CBC and Bon Air Basketball, as well as the Huguenot Huskies, and Powhatan Slammers. Mr. Seitter had a tremendous talent for being able to connect and mentor children.

In addition to the coaching, he also helped to mentor the youth at Beaumont Correctional Facility and the Red Lane Baptist Youth Group. An avid hunter and fisherman, was a longtime member of the Green Bryer Hunt Club in Prince George, VA. He was also a 1985 graduate of Manchester High School.

He is survived by a wife, Susan W. Seitter, and two sons, Daniel Ray Seitter, and Andrew Glenn Seitter. He is also survived by grandparents, Sterling and Marjorie Wallerstein of Wake, Va, a sister, Vickie Renee Seitterof Wake, VA, a brother, Leroy Emerson Seitter Jr.of Chesterfield, brother-in-law, Ernest Ray Williams and wife Renee Mitchell Williams of Glen Allen, VA. Also were nephews and nieces, Emerson Leroy Seitter III (Skipper) of Chesterfield, Brandy Renee Seitter of Kent, Ohio, Alexandra Nicole Williams, Jason Mitchell Williams, and Kerry Elizabeth Williams of Glen Allen, Heath Shires-Valle of Raleigh, NC and Kimberly Shires Evans of Virginia Beach, Va.

The family received visitors on Monday, August 9, 2010 at Currie’s Funeral Home in Kilmarnock, Va. and a service was held on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Harmony Grove Baptist Church in Wake, Va.
In addition, there will be a memorial service at Red Lane Baptist Church in Powhatan on Thursday, August 12, 2010 with Josh Cappes officiating, and a reception following.
If you would like in lieu of flowers, there is a Danny R. Seitter Memorial Fund being prepared at Central Virginia Bank in Powhatan, Va.
