Mr. John R. Pendleton, age 66 of
Stuart passed away Friday morning at Pioneer Community Hospital in
Stuart.
He was born on May 30, 1943 in
Patrick County to the late
Delmar J. Pendleton and Elsie
Rakes Pendleton of
Stuart.
He was retired from the timber business and worked for Marilyn’s Florist. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and attended
Mayo Mountain
Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Jean H. Pendleton of the home; one step daughter, Jackie
Italiano and husband, Joe of Floyd; one step son, Doug Joyce and wife, Leslie of Stuart; three step grandchildren, Clara, Jenna, and
Camden Italiano; five sisters,
Elva Pendleton, Larmie
Hylton, Vera
Harbour all of
Stuart, Shirley
Harris of Woolwine, Judy
Kidd of Amelia; and five brothers, Jim
Pendleton, Gerald
Pendleton, Gary
Pendleton all of
Stuart, Dan
Pendleton and Ron
Pendleton both of Critz.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 5, 2009 at 3:00 PM at
Moody Funeral Home in
Stuart with
Pastor David
Heath officiating. Burial will follow in the
Jacks Creek Primitive
Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 3:00 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
