Alvis Randolph “Randy” Foley, 78, of 1858 Stultz Road, Martinsville, died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
He was born on Feb. 10, 1931, in Patrick County to Daniel Abram and Dora Kitty Thomas Foley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Hansford and Ophus Foley, and three sisters, Ina Keith, Audria Harris and Edna Robertson.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of AMVETS and a former member of the Moose and Elks clubs. He had retired from Stone Container Co. after 30 years service and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are two sons, Ronnie L. Foley of Martinsville and Carlton M. Foley of Collinsville; two daughters, Tammy Feazelle of Collinsville and Cindy James of Prosperity, W.Va.; two sisters, Una Lawless and Mildred Setliff, both of Stuart; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Elsie Janney Foley of Martinsville.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today in Roselawn Burial Park with Pastor Bill Moss officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Army and the local Martinsville-Henry County Veterans Honor Guard.
