Verna Susan Mills of 1076 Fisher Farm Road, Martinsville, died Friday, June 26, 2009, at her home.

She was born in Patrick County to Roy Lee and Roberta Opry Turner Mills.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, David Mills, R.L. Mills and James Marshall Mills; and two sisters, Janice M. Cumbee and Louella Mills.

She graduated from Drewry Mason High School and attended Patrick Henry Community College and Averett College where she received a degree in business technology. She worked at Bank Services for more than 30 years as a bookkeeping researcher. She owned Suzann’s Collectibles. She was a member of Rich Acres Baptist Church.

Surviving are two brothers, Robert and Warren Mills, both of Martinsville; a sister, Patricia Stevens of Ridgeway; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service
