Mrs. Virginia Brim Tuggle, age 92, a resident of Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart, and formerly of Spencer, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart.

She was born in Patrick County on September 29, 1916 to the late Robert T. and Anna Terry Brim.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tuggle was preceded in death her husband, Noel Edgar Tuggle; one grandson, Timothy Noel Tuggle, a step-grandson, Cody Nickelston; and three brothers, Moir, James and Claude Brim.

She was a member of Old Well Christian Church, and attended Mayo Mountain Baptist Church.

Mrs. Tuggle is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Doris Tuggle of Spencer; one daughter and son-in-law, Louise T. and Mike Williams of Stuart; three grandchildren, Deborah Tuggle of Lexington, North Carolina, Sandra Kay Hairston, and husband, Larry, of Martinsville and Joshua S. Williams of Stuart; three step-grandchildren, Helen Shockley of Ridgeway, Richard Corn of Pensacola, Florida and Christy Nickelston of Lawsonville, North Carolina; six great-grandchildren, Tyler Hairston, Dave Rea, Eric Rea, Travis Nickelston, Miranda Nickelston and Levi Nickelston; one step-great-grandchild, Jaylon Rea; two sisters, Charlotte Wall of Danbury, North Carolina and Martha Shockley of Stuart.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tuggle will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Bernard Handy, Rev. David Heath and Rev. Joe Shockley officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Well Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home of Louise and Mike Williams, Dobyns Road, Stuart.
