I am trying to find information on the Dungy family of New Kent County. I know that John William Dungy born there and was enslaved until the age of 27 when he escaped. He was born in 1833 or 1834. Any information about baptismal records, wills, estates, slave ownership etc. would be greatly appreciated.

I am tracing the Patterson's of New Kent County. My grgrgr grandfather William Harvey Patterson was born in New Kent County on February 3,1810 and he died on February 14, sometime in the 1890's. William Harvey Patterson married Mary Ann Dungey on November 22, 1832. Mary Ann Dungey Patterson died on November 15,1848. William Harvey Patterson's father was suppose to be William Harvey Patterson Sr, and his mother was Rebecca Ann Patterson born in New Kent County on February 23, 1790, and she died on February 24, 1880 at the age of 90. William Harvey Patterson on March 14, 1850 married Lutilda F. Bailey.
Mary Ann Dungey, I do believe had a brother named Jesse W. Dungey, in 1848, William Harvey Patterson became the owner of 73 and three quarter acres of land, this land belonged to Jesse W. Dungey. I have been told that William Harvey Patterson's father William Sr. was related to the Patterson's of Roxbury Plantation. I am still trying to find the connection. I also am trying to find the parents of Mary Ann Dungey. William Harvey Patterson received by will in 1847 three acres of land from John Bailey, also Rebecca Ann Patterson received by will from John Bailey in 1847, 17 and half acres of land and 91 acres of land. Rebecca Ann Patterson and William Sr.,had a daughter named Mary E. Patterson, who married a Fox. Also William Harvey Patterson and Mary Ann Dungey had a daughter named Elizabeth A. Patterson, who married Beverly Dixon.
