I would like to find out if Mary A TAYLOR was the 1st wife of Thomas ROBBINS (ca1848 - ). Ten years ago, I was told by my father's cousin that their grandfather, Henry Clay TAYLOR (ca 1839-1922) had a sister who married a ROBBINS. He did not remember the man's first name but Mr. Robbins had a brother named Daniel.

The census date fits, but that is no proof.
In 1850, James City Co., Henry Clay TAYLOR has sisters Elizabeth (born ca 1832 - ) and Mary A (born ca 1847- )
In 1850, New Kent Co., There is a household Daniel 24?(I'm looking at a transcription, not original), Harriet 30, Daniel 13, Wm 11, Eliza 9, Benj 8, Sarah 5, Thomas 2, Joseph 1.
In 1880, New Kent, a Thomas ROBBINS born ca 1848- ) is married to a Mary A (born ca 1847- )
By 1900, New Kent, Malinda ROBBINS (35) is living with step-son Daniel (born May 1873- )

I was also told that Charlie ROBBINS "was some kin to us." Charlie was the son of George Barmun ROBBINS (1975 - ) who was son of Benjamin ROBBINS (born ca 1841- ) which would put him as a brother of Thomas and therefore not that close a relative.

Does anyone know about the ROBBINS family?
