Elizabeth J. "Betty" Lamphier, 90, of Aroda, Va., died on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at Mt. View Nursing Home, Aroda, Va. She was born on April 15, 1912, in Nethers, Va. She was once the secretary for the Culpeper Baptist Church for many years. Her parents were the late Pierce Jenkins and the late Ada Blanche Coates Jenkins. Her husband was the late James Elmer Lamphier. Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Edgley of Monroe, Va.; one son, James W. Lamphier and his wife, Mary of White Post, Va.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Woodrow W. Jenkins of Potomac, Md.; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. at Culpeper Baptist Church. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. I have that Henry Pierce Jenkins was born 13 August 1868 and died on 14 December 1925. Sorry but I have nothing on Ada. If I can be of further asistance, please let me know.
