I have traced two families to Loudoun county in the late 1700's and early 1800's...they appear to be part of larger families with the same name but often different spellings, however I believe they all trace to the same areas...I just haven't been able to link them all together and I need your help!! The last name of Koontz has been spelled Koontz, Koonce, Koons, Koonse
Nancy Chamblin was born 27 Dec 1794 in Loudoun county...she married
Nancy husband #1...Mr Koontz/Koonce...I have not been able to track down his first name but the marriage would have taken place likely in Loudoun county about 1820...it could be a few years before...I get the date because I have tracked down 2 daughters...one is for sure hers, the other is a guess based on birth date and location.
Daughter #1...Mary Ann Koontz/Koonce b. 17 Nov 1821 in Loudoun county...she married Matthew Harrison Beans on 24 Dec 1846 in Richland county, Ohio...she died 30 Aug 1886 in Richland county, Ohio
Daughter #2...Sarah Ann Koontz/Koonce b. 8 Apr 1826 Loudoun county married Thomas H. Hines 17 Mar 1846 in Richland county, Ohio...she died 2 Jan 1896 Noble County, Indiana.
Nancy husband #2...John Penn b. 5 May 1800 in Baltimore, MD... they married 22 Sep 1851...John died 1 Mar 1879 in Knox county, Ohio....additionally, John was married to MARY CHAMBLIN...Mary was John's first wife. Mary was born 29 Dec 1805 in Loudoun County and she died 21 Apr 1844 in Knox county, Ohio...I believe that Mary and Nancy are sisters or cousins...
Here are my problems...
I have been unable to locate the full name of Nancy Chamblin's first husband
I have been unable to locate the names of Nancy Chamblin's parents
I have been unable to determine the link between Nancy Chamblin and Mary
Chamblin...are they sisters or cousins?!?
Is Mary Ann Koontz the daughter of Nancy Chamblin? Is there any proof?
I know these families are from very early in Loudoun County history but I would be grateful if anyone has any information or can send me in the direction of where to look for the information...I have tried everything I know and have been wholly unsuccessful!
Thank you very much for your time!!
