According to Early Settlers of Lee County, Vol. 2, on August 9, 1858, my cousin, Reuben B. Ferguson, conveyed one acre adjoining his land on Wallens Creek, for the sum of $1.00, to the Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, "upon which is erected a house of worship". Trustees were Francis C. Allen, John Rasnick, Stephen McPherson, Thomas J. Larmer, Thomas Burk and Andrew Lockhart. I'm curious as to whether that church is still in existence. I hope so.
Thanks for any reply,
June Henson
