Any luck in your search? My brickwall is a Samuel Moore born in Scott County, VA in 1814. Since Scott County was formed from Lee, Russell and Washington in 1815 (approved in 1814, but started functioning as a county in 1815)...I looked at the 1820 & 1830 census for possible matches for my Samuel using census data for Moores that had sons the age of my Samuel.

I've picked out Joel, Henry & Samuel (the one you mention in the 1830 census below. In 1822, the county lines seem to have shifted between Scott and Lee again...and this Samuel you mention is back in Lee County in 1830. Given some detailed research by others about Joel..I've just about ruled out Joel and am focusing on Henry and Samuel as possible great great grandfathers for me. So, any hunches that you may have on Samuel and Phaniry being siblings are welcome for discussion....hope that wasn't too convoluted to understand...!
