Orange Co.Death record of W. F. Mitchell shows that he was born in Greene Co c 1833, died at age 45 in 1878 "from a blow". He was a jeweller, and the story goes that he was being robbed and got killed. He had married Martha Davis of Orange Co. and had three small children. Martha Mitchell only lived 8 more years and died at age 39. They resided in Gordonsville in Orange Co, VA.
