I understand there is a book, "Fauquier Families 1759-1799 Comprehensive Indexed abstracts of Tax and Tithable Lists, Marriage Bonds, Minute, Deed, and Will Books and Others," by John P. Alcock. I know it is available for purchase, but does anyone have access to an index so I can find out if my names are in the book BEFORE purchase?

Aylesbury, Allsberry, Ailsbury, Auberry, etc.

I also looked for an electronic copy of the Alcock book but was unsuccessful. The Alcock book was, however, very useful in preparing “A Northern Neck Grant Family,” 2009, Amazon Createspace, Seattle, Washington, 289 pages. ISBN 1449540791; and to correct a misinterpretation for Daniel Grant in Hirsch, 1994, “The Descendants of Elizabeth and William Grant,” published privately, Logan, Utah, 301 pages. I was able to obtain both the index and pages of interest in the Alcock book very quickly through interlibrary loan. FredB. Samson.
