I just got back from Salt Lake and have decided the misunderstanding about John Ford son of Peter Ford and Judith Maxey was the family stating that John went to Kentucky. So researchers attached John son of Peter and Judith Maxey to Johns living in KY. The John who married Rhoda Garrett was the son of Joel and Mary Garrett Ford. John son of Joel died in Garrard Co. Ky left a will naming Rhoda his wife. He left his inheritance from his father to his children, which later proved this John was his son. Rhoda married Nicolas Green in Garrard Co. after the death of John. The John who married Elizabeth Thommason was the son of Peter and Marie Gaudwin Ford (Fore), this marriage record was handed down in the their family. They lived in Henry Co KY. This marriage was sited in a lot of family histories as being John Ford who was the son of John and Judith Maxey but no one gave a reference to it so it could be proved or disproved. Unfortunately it was sited a lot. I couldn't find a marriage between John Ford and Elizabeth Thomason in any VA, KY or NC records.
With our DNA proof and our traditions handed down our line I am quite certain John Ford in Burke Co., NC is the son of Peter and Judith Maxey Ford.
