I am searching for information about Jack Brugh, adopted son of Dr. & Mrs. Ben Brugh. Jack was born in Richmond, Virginia to Clarence & Grace Coxon in 1922 and adopted by the Brugh family several years after his birth. I would appreciate any information that you can give, Jack was my uncle. Thank you.

Eleanor, I have an extensive database on the Brughs, but do not have a Jack Brugh that fits your inquiry. Let me suggest that you write (by mail) to Mr. Neville Brugh, 434 Nace Road, Troutville, Va. 24175-5806 and direct your inquiry to him. Neville may have an anwer for you.

Surnames: Brugh>Dudding
In the 1860 Census of Craig County, there was an 8 years old boy, Frank Brugh age 8, living with Catherine and Lucinda Dudding, and listed as farm laborer. In the 1870 Census, he is still there listed as Francis M. Brugh, age 18, and farm laborer. This would have made him born 1851/52. When he married, he listed his name as Francis M. Dudding and listed Lucinda Dudding as his mother. Lucinda did not marry until 1881 and then it was to William Jones. He cannot be found listed anywhere as a Dudding until he turned 18 years old.
Francis was my g-grandfather. Do you have any idea as to who this Frank Brugh might belong to? Thank you for any information you may have to help me figure this one out.

I believe the Jack Brugh you asked about was my Father. I don’t have much info on him as he died when I was just a baby.
Any thing you have I would like to know.
