I found a family posting on Ancestry stating that John and Julia Ann Gillespie are buried there and would like to verify the location. The Find A Grave site lists 61 burials but no Gillespie.
Does anyone have a listing or suggestion?
thanks
Jeff

Hi,
The surname is Wimmer, not Wiannce. Ann Robinett married a Jacob Wimmer-see 1860 Tazewell Co, VA census. Ann Robinett was the daughter of Daniel Robinett and Esther Waddle. Mary E. Robinett appears to the the illegitmate daughter of Ann.
Here is the family in 1850 Tazewell:
1850 Western District, Tazewell Co, VA M432 979 P233a D244 F244
Robinet, Danl 60	1790	VA	Farmer
Robinet, Easter 64	1786	VA
Robinet, John R. 48	1802	VA
Robinet, Jas. P. 23	1827	VA
Robinet, Ann 32	1818	VA
Robinet, Prudence 21	1829	VA
Robinet, Mary E. 10	1840	VA

Looking at that census, Mary E. could only belong to Ann: Easter is too old and Prudence too young.

Hope this helps,
Janie

I am descended from Kidds in Pulaski county Va. My family lived in Roanoke Va, but grandfather Kidd came from Hiawasse (sp?). Grandfather's name was Walter Clayton Kidd and he married my grandmother, Mary Bowie, in Amsterdam VA, Botetourt County. They reared their family in Vinton VA, founded by Grandmother's family Gish.
Sorry for the back story, but I hoped it might help ring a bell in someone's memory.
Per DNA we have evidence that our Pulaski Kidds are related to the Bland Kidds. Am looking for any data possible on the Bland Kidds. They are a new finding for us and am looking to learn whatever we can.
Thanks!

Hello Steve, I saw your posting regarding the 36th Va Infantry/confedrate veterans. My wifes great, great grand father was Joseph Wade Cameron who served with that unit. He was from Bland county and fought in many battles. In 1864 at the Battle of Winchester he was taken prisoner, then being taken to harpers ferry. He was then sent too Point Look Out prison in Charles County Maryland and held there untill may of 1865. He was released after signing the oath. His oath that was signed is on display at point lookout. I also have copies of the muster rolls when he was held at point look out. In 1900 he was granted a pension because on the application he stated that he was struck on the head by a sword at the battle of winchester and could not work. He was granted the pension, $25.00 a month. On the other side, my wifes great grand father Lt. edward smith and his brother pvt. lyman smith on my wifes mother side fought for the north. 2nd conn. heavey artilery out of conn. One of the last battles they fought in was at cold harbor and lymon smith was killed there and is buried there. Joseph Cameron died in 1928 and is buried in bland county, edward smith died in the 40s and is buried up here in cecil county maryland which is where we live. I enjoy anything about the civil war and have a very large collection, to include an 1834 spring feild musket. I would enjoy heraing from you....charlie

Cem was nearly in ruins when I visited it in 2000, cattle, etc run over it and doubt if anything is left now. Dug through the leaves and weeds that fall just to be able to find what I did.
Sincerely, J Jo Ann
