I am the 7th great grandson of Anthony Kent and was excited to hear that he served in the Civil War. Do you have any info about what unit he served in or what actions he may have participated in?

Go to http://vermontcivilwar.org. Click on Search for a Soldier. Type in Kent, Anthony. It says he was credited to Wallingford, VT, age 40, dates enlisted, mustered in, mustered out, and that he was in Co. B of the 11th Vermont Volunteer Infantry. Click on 11 VVI and it takes you to a history of the regiment. Howard Coffin's Full Duty: Vermonters in the Civil War and The Battered Stars (also about VT soldiers)are both good as is Jeffrey Marshall's War of the People: Vermont Civil War Letters
