Carolee, she was born in abt 1837 and married Seth Sturgis/es sometime between 1850 and 1860, after he apparently divorced his wife Eliza. He and Eliza and children are listed in the 1850 census for Fairfield, and he and Deborah and most of the same children are listed in the 1860 census for Sheldon. I found her in the 1850 census in Sheldon as well. She and two sisters were listed with Thomas and Polly Johnson. She is shown as Deborah Reynolds on Seth's headstone. We have yet to find Eliza's headstone but I did find her living with her mother and siblings and then keeping house for a (much younger) farmer in later census listings. I am just getting going in this research and will be doing some more investigating the next time I visit my parents in VT (I'm in Maryland). We'll get it sorted out eventually. The Hojabooms were definitely from NY. Thanks for the info on Alburgh, that's new to me.
