My gggrandfather, Lars Johan
Augustson, immegrated to the
Utah from Sweden on a
Mormon sponsored ship in 1869. The next record that I know about is for being jailed for 6 months [April 1892] for u.c. [family myth stated that Lars had two wives]in
Vernal, Uintah. I spent 3 hours last night at a local Family Center trying to find additional info about him. I found an entry that is probably about him and the others that travelled with him--they probably left Sweden from Goteborg (small town of Finnerodja, Skaraborg). I've ordered the church records for that area for 1845-1871. Now I have to wait for two weeks. Is there somewhere else I could be looking? The 1890 census is not available here for me. Thanks for any suggestions.
