FOUND QUILT SQUARES…

Friendship quilt squares believed for Vera Barrow.
There is a square that says VERNAL 1930
I believe that’s VERNAL Utah. I searched all 50 states
And that’s the only VERNAL I found.
The squares were bought in Auburn Alabama by Charlene Moore.
Her post are in the Dodson Board under ‘’Quilt’’.
I have the quilt squares now and have checked with
every resource I have and so far have not found anyone related
to these people whose names are on the squares.

I started checking 1930 census records and see these ladies in Sedgwick & Sumner, KS:

Ada Waddell, 33, in Wichita, Sedgwick, KS, wife of Guy Waddell. And a different Ada Waddell in Jackson, Sumner, KS with an 11 year old daughter named Edna.

Olive G Fruits, 43, in Illinois, Sedgwick, KS, wife of John H. Fruits

There's an Opal Dodson in Longton, Elk, KS

Pearl Dodson in Falls, Sumner, KS

Bertha L Dodson in Belle Plaine, Sumner, KS and two others in KS as well.
L Thomas Dodson in Belle Plaine, Sumner, KS.
Thomas R Dodson in Belle Plaine, Sumner, KS.

Gurtrude Hymer in Fawn Creek, Montgomery, KS. There were more variations on that name and I have not listed them all here.

Mattie J Platt in Belle Plaine, Sumner, KS.

Hattie B Elder, 39, in Belle Plaine, Sumner, KS

There are two Herbert Adams in Sumner, KS - I don't know which one you might be looking for.

about 15 yrs ago a friend of mine found an old handstitched,various animal hides blanket or quilt.
im trying to find out some info on it.it may have been made from several different animals. /\/\/\/\/\ this is the design but in a much larger scale.almost a "moutain"pattern.it came from vernal utah. if you can help me id be happy with any information youd have.im working on a picture to post wich ill have within days.

You can take it to a taxidermist to have the fur identified. They could also tell you about how old it is. It sounds like it could be Native American. You can write to one of the Nations near Vernal and discribe it to them and they can tell you if it would be Native American or not.

Also, re-post this query with it's own title, like, Fur blanket from Vernal, need info. or something like that. There may be someone checking the board who would know right away what it is and where it came from.
