Descendants of Elizabeth (Russell) Archibald - Reunion Sept 8, 2012

This year is the 150th anniversary of LDS Pionner Elizabeth Russell Archibald's immigration to Utah.

Many people in Utah and Idaho are descended from Thomas and Elizabeth (Russell) Archibald. Thomas Archibald died in Scotland but Elizabeth Russell Archibald came to Wellsville with several of her children. Some went to Idaho and some went to Canada.

A family reunion for all descendants of Elizabeth Russell Archibald is being planned for Saturday, Sept 8, 2012 at the Wellsville, Utah bowery by cousin Brandon Sundeen. He is planning games for the younger children, sharing of family history info for the adults, followed by a memorial service at the Wellsville Cemetery. Food is POT LUCK. Bring your own lunch and all will share what they bring.

If you have any family heirlooms, photos, letters, etc.. pertaining to Elizabeth Russell Archibald or her immediate family, please bring them for viewing.

For more details contact Brandon Sundeen. Phone: 503-396-2178 OR email: brandonsundeen@gmail.com

Please help us get the word out. Pass this information on to all of your extended family so that they may attend if they are interested.

I have not found any Wamsley's who moved to Utah. They did spread out and made their way into the Midwest (Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and Kansas). A branch of the family left Iowa and went to Oregon in one of the last Oregon Trail wagon trains (1869).

I've secured a few stories from the DUP & list of names from the LDS website, but am also looking for other sources. Thank you.
My ancestors are:

John Depew, William Depew,
Sally Williams, (she was an Elmer),
Ira B. Elmer, Hiram Elmer, William Elmer, & all the children listed on the Overland listing. These folks traveled with Uriah Curtis wagon company.

John Elmer & wife Harriet Brunson (Gould) may have traveled a different wagon train. We cannot find them on Overland list. John Elmer was the grandfather to the above Depew boys. On the wagon train the Depew boys were in the care of their Aunt S. Williams till they got to Utah. Then the 1860 census shows them in the care of their grandfather J.Elmer. My main focus is on the Depew's and I can get tidbits about them by looking at lateral family trees. They were neighbors to the Curtis & Child families as well.

Obstetrician as Occupation 1910 Census-Info?

I have a Caroline C WELLS age 55 on the Randolph Prct-Rich County-Utah 1900 Census, who lists her occupation as an obstetrician. Does anyone know how I can further search this occupation for that time period? I wonder what the requirements were, or maybe if she was even a midwife?
Prior to 1900 she is in SLC, and later to Idaho.
Any suggestions?
