PILOT MOUNTAIN - Mr. Dean
Peterson, 71, of
Pilot Mountain, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at Northern Hospital of
Surry County.
He was born in
Millard County,
Utah, on April 15, 1936, to the late
Lowell Dalton and Emaline
Adair Peterson.
He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather. Dean worked as a school teacher in
Fillmore,
Utah, for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Marion
Koontz Peterson of the home; two daughters,
Patty and Todd
Richardson of King, and April
Tilley of Mount Airy; two brothers, Jack and Mary Jane
Peterson of
Utah, and Don and Jeri
Peterson of Utah; one sister, Judy and Ted
Smith of Pa.; four grandchildren, Kyle and Anthony
Hiatt and Dillon and Kaylia Richardson; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home in
Pilot Mountain. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at 2 p.m. at The Church of Jesus
Christ of
Latter Day Saints with
Bishop J.C. Haymore conducting the service and interment to follow at The
Pilot Mountain City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Church of Jesus
