Descendants of Elizabeth (Russell) Archibald - Reunion Sept 8, 2012

This year is the 150th anniversary of LDS Pionner Elizabeth Russell Archibald's immigration to Utah.

Many people in Utah and Idaho are descended from Thomas and Elizabeth (Russell) Archibald. Thomas Archibald died in Scotland but Elizabeth Russell Archibald came to Wellsville with several of her children. Some went to Idaho and some went to Canada.

A family reunion for all descendants of Elizabeth Russell Archibald is being planned for Saturday, Sept 8, 2012 at the Wellsville, Utah bowery by cousin Brandon Sundeen. He is planning games for the younger children, sharing of family history info for the adults, followed by a memorial service at the Wellsville Cemetery. Food is POT LUCK. Bring your own lunch and all will share what they bring.

If you have any family heirlooms, photos, letters, etc.. pertaining to Elizabeth Russell Archibald or her immediate family, please bring them for viewing.

Elgin Cemetery is just a little bit northeast of Green River Utah. It isn't a city just a cemetery. You would probably get information by calling Green River City Office instead of the county maintainence number.
Also the Family History Library in Price, Utah has an extensive collection of obituaties. You might call there and see if someone would look up her obituary for you.

I have been looking at this surname over the last few years in St Brides and Nottage. My family are from the same area although I have no known direct correction to this surname (yet).

The surname has certainly been in the area since at least 1700 and so are well integrated with other families.

Since I couldn't find the specific Emery Cemetery headstones to verify certain names and dates, I recently took a little trip to Emery and photogrphed every single headstone I could find. Utah Death Certificates Online from 1905-1955

You should check out the following website to be able to view death certificates, and some birth certificates on the archives website for Utah.

Go to http://www.historyresearch.utah.gov/
Then click on the menu option called "Subject Guides"
Select "Death Records"
Then click on the link for Death Records from 1905-1955
Then click on the index link.
Run a search on that page with last name first, first name.
A good majority of these records have a link back to the image of the death certificate.

I am the daughter of Tonia Scoville, daughter of John Scoville. Our family name did not end in an e untill a few decades ago. My grandfather (John) owned a huge leather bound bible with angles on the front. Located on the inside was about 2" inches of paper of a historical family tree. This book was stolen from us 30 years ago. We are desperately trying to find it. Pleas if you have any info do tell. I have been told stories we are related to the duke of england.

My married name is Baltzer. My husband's branch of Baltzer's are from Omaha, NE.

As far as Dickeson, Ferguson, Gache, and Cameron goes. . . I don't have access to the Census records anymore but I think if I remember correctly they were listed as boarders. Sorry about that.

My thinking on Philadelphia was the John said he was born at see. I tried to see if I could find him as an infant on a ship registry, but no such luck. When I found a family where the dates were close I thought maybe it would be worth looking in to.

Thank you ever so much. This is definitely my husband's family and sheds some light on his grandfather's siblings. You found Uncle Willis--I have a picture that says Uncle Willis, but was only guessing it was John Burton's brother. You also found his great-Aunt Gladys that no one knew existed. I have no idea who J.E. Dickeson, Robert Ferguson, Willy Gache or D.K. Cameron are, but it gives me something else to investigate.

The Love family in the 1870 and 1880 Philadelphia census that you also sent, doesn't seem to fit at the moment, but it's worth investigating. The ages don't match up. The Social Security Number, etc. for Burton Love you sent on another message is definitely my husband's grandfather.

On another subject, I couldn't help but notice your last name is Baltzer. Is there any relationship to the Baltzers of Shelby County Missouri? It's not a common name--my mother's cousins were Baltzers (she was a Howerton.) Just thought I'd ask.
