I'm researching my great great grandparents, Edd and Katie Hughes; both are African-American.

Edd was born around 1877 in Texas, his father either was born in Texas or Georgia, and his mother either in Texas or S. Carolina.

Katie was born around 1887 in Arkansas, and her parents also were born in Arkansas, perhaps Hempstead County

Edd and Katie were married aorund 1901 and had nine children, one of whom was my great grandmother Hanna in 1902. Other children included John E., Oretha Flemmins of Los Angeles, L.T. of Los Angeles, and L.G., who lived in Forth Worth, Texas.

Edd and Katie lived in Kaufman County, Rockwall County, and Harrison County, all in Texas, I'm not sure of Edd's death, but Katie lived to be 103 years old, which makes her death around 1990 or '91.

Any information on my great great grandfather after 1877 and his family before 1877 would be a great help, I have had a hard time finding any death records for Edd and Katie, however I did find census records of them and their children.

I also would like to find more information on my great great grandmother, as I do not know her maiden name, but one census record says that she is from Arkansas.
