My great-great-grandfather, Richard Green Reed, settled on land for which the land office shows his name (R. Reed) in 1872.

From that time and back, before 1856, that parcel is immediately adjacent to a parcel that belonged to Susannah Sanders (S. Sanders).

I am hoping to determine the precise relationship between S. Sanders and R. Reed, which almost certainly is through Reed's wife, Nancy Catherine Sanders. It would also be nice to learn how Susannah acquired the land.
