Donovan Sr. died in 2006 at the age of 91 in Mineola. Married to Helen Annie Wells, he was the son of Edward Thornton White and Habie Lee Haines and great-grandson of Wood County settlers Richard G. Reed and Nancy Catherine Sanders.
