Yes, there are three mothers involved in this family - the one of two yet unsolved mystery/"problems" that exists in the tree.

The 1st and third wives are known, and using their childrens dates of birth with the marrage dates of the mothers I think I've got that right - BUT mother/wife #2 is a complete mystery!!!!

Here's what I've concluded (for now):

Husband: James Mattison BUTTS b. 1831 d. 1900(?)

Spouse #1: Elizabeth MC KIGNEY b. 1833, m. 11/13/1854 Her children - Ida b. 1861 & Wm R b. 1863

Spouse #2: unknown . probably married between 1863 - 1880. Her children - Rose b. 1969, James 1873 & Charity b. 1875

Spouse #3: - Martha J "Mattie" MC AFEE b. 1841 d. 1899 Her children - Ona b. 1861, Carrie (Caroline) b 1883 & Kit Carson b. 1888

One of the descendants of Charity is going to try and order copies of birth certificates for Rose, James & Charity. I was in hopes that an obit might have the missing info, but so far nothing that I've been able to find with my durrent "free" resources. May try local libraries to see if there are obits on file . . .

The other mystery is why Zachariah changed his surname from CASWELL to BUTTS . . .

Just got a phone call from my doctor who wants me to buy another medication to slow down the progression of one of my "disorders". If it were an RX I could afford to buy it but this is an "extra" OTC thing. . . .

It's stuff like these doctors that drives me to distraction. Geneaology research takes my mind off all these horrible "alternatives' and allows me to relax!!!
