The Sand Springs Cemetery is the resting place for many of James M BUTTS children, wives and grandchildren, but not the man himself. If his end involved some event that left no "remains" it seems impossible that there would be no mention of such an incident.
Still think the final answer will be found in newspaper articles or obits from the area. Even if he didn't die in Wood Co., his presence there was probably well known and would have resulted in an obit in the area.
The "missing" mother of Rose Ella, James P, and Charity "Obie" seems strange. Why keep her name or what happened to her a "secret"? The death certificate of Obie, according to a previous researcher offered no clues either . . . Maybe the children, themselves, never knew!!!
Having often experienced complete frustration when it comes to researching an obvious family member and coming up with zero prompts me to volunteer "help" whenever possible. This is one of those cases.
