I an looking for any information on Sophia Ellen McNew. She was my ggggrandmother. The story goes that she married Andrew Jackson Reed in about 1848. They moved to Texas from Tenn sometime after 1850. They had several children. Andrew left her for a younger woman whom he married in 1885. Sophia moved to Van Zandt Co. after Andrew left her. Sophia was suppose to be a full- blood Cherokee Indian. She died in the 1890s and is buried somewhere in Van Zandt Co. I find her name here and there but no information that can lead anywhere.
