Marion Nancy Mead

Marion Nancy Mead was my grandmother. She was born in 1940 and lived in various places in Texas. Her mother and father were Katherine Elizabeth Doss and Cheser Bowen Mead.

She got together with an unknown man and gave birth to my mother, Susie Katherine Mead.

It would mean the world if we could just find the name of the man she was with that could be my grandfather. My mother has wondered her entire life as to who her father is or was. We don't know anything about him and he could well be deceased for all we know but if anyone happens by some twist of fate to know the name of the man my grandmother was with or if the man we are looking for just happens to see this board we would be most interested in speaking with him.

We are not asking for anything, we simply want to know who he is, just his name would be enough.

We were told that it could possibly be a "Jack" or "Robert" Kelly. We are not certain on the spelling of Kelly or if this name was made up.

If anyone has a clue please do not hesitate to PM me or post.

I would be happy to arrange for a DNA test free of charge should the man come forward and be interested in being tested.

AKA "J. Van" Ketchum. He was son of James Ketchum who was killed by Indians in 1867. He lived most of his life in San Angelo and was a rancher and county constable. Married Helen Lamborn late in life. No children. He died in Tom Greene County I believe, in 1935. I would like any information about him. Everything I know is in the sentences above. I have family tree of this Ketchum family back to Edward Ketchum born about 1764. berrys@hal-pc.org

Melvin Joe Parker had siblings: Dora Fay, Billy Gene, and Mary Ann. Joe T. Parker's mother has an online death certificate filed as Mrs. V. E. Jones (27 Feb 1885 - 10 Apr 1934). She also died in Lamar County. Her family, surname Martin, is easier to trace than her first husband's, Joe Parker. Unable to isolate the Parkers in 1900-1920 Mississippi. Almost certain they were in that state 'cause J. T. (1912), Joe (1915), and Alva (1916) were enumerated as Mississippi-natives. By 1930 TX-Lamar-Paris-District 3-Image 5, their mom was remarried to Vernon E. Jones. Mr. Jones was already a resident of Lamar but I did not find a marriage record. Some of J. T. Parker's aunts/uncles (surname Martin) were also found in Lamar County.

Is this close to being correct? Joe Tom Parker/Ruby Lee Earnest > Melvin Joe Parker/Sandra Ethel Binyon > Sheri Monita Parker > You! If this is your lineage then logon https://familysearch.org/ and setup a "free" user account. Once completed, lookup death certificate for J. T. Parker (1 Aug 1912 - 15 Oct 1978). Death happened in Lamar County, TX but he was born in Mississippi to Joe Parker and Margie/Marjorie Martin. Respond to this so that I'll know I'm pursuing the "right" family?

No info on unknown Hunter. There is a birth record for Julie Inman with parents identified as Cecil Edwin Inman and Ida Jean Gruber. Call Tom Green County Clerk and request lookup in marriage index. That's easy 'cause marriage are indexed brides-to-grooms, and vice versa, for early and late marriages. http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/cclerks.shtml#M

Courtesy reply, I'm not related! Texas Birth Index, 1903-1997 is a good place to begin research. Access http://search.ancestry.com/search/db.aspx?dbid=8781 You'll find two births in Hopkins County for Mary Malvia Williamson/Curtis Clyde Morris; two in Tom Green County for Oran Odis Williamson/Nellie Jane Renfro; one in Tom Green for Era Lee Williamson/William Ovid Coltrane; three in Tom Green for Emma Margaret Williamson/Elbert Sylvester Hill; Percy Jeff Williamson/Katherine Vaughn have one each in Dallas, Tom Green, and Ward Counties. Another possibility is Kenneth Dale Williamson/Betty Jean Little with one each in Tom Green and Ector Counties. SSDI: Fannie Frankie Williamson (3 Jan 1886 - 1 Sep 1983). Jeff D. Williamson (9 Jun 1880 - 11 Oct 1945) per https://familysearch.org/

Trying to find information about Jeff D. & Frannie Wilson Williamson. Frannie was a great aunt of mine. From the 1930 census they had 10 children have no information about them. So if anyone knows about the Williamson family let me know. Would be great.

Thank you. I did find an obit on Pauline in the Feb. 23, 2008 edition of THE CITIZEN TELEGRAM, Rifle, Colorado
where it spoke about her co-owning the Yates Pecos ranch and her travels with her grandfather when she was a girl.

Polly had 3 children. Paul Blanton Brooks, now Covert as he took his father's name (I believe) He lives in Texas around the Austin area. Ira Yates, which I believe was Polly's maiden name, and lives in Austin and Claire- don't have her married name or her maiden name. Polly was from Iraan Texas, named after her father or grandfather. Been a while since her son told me the history.

Hope this helps.
