Looking for information on the descendants of Asbery (Asberry or Asbury) Evans and Cornelia Brown. They would have moved to Texas from Alabama by 1873. They are in the 1880 census, and the 7 year old son is show as being born in Texas. Unfortunately the 1880 census only lists initials: sons R.L (born about 1871) and J.A. born about 1873; daughters M.E. (born about 1874), M.A. born about 1877) and S.F. (born in 1880... 4 months old at time of census). In the 1900 census it states that the wife (Cornelia) had 11 children, 8 of whom were still living. The only children listed are Mollie (daughter, born June 1876... but is this M.A. or M. E.?); Bosse (son, born Sept. 1883); Lou (daughter, born Aug 1885); Dock (son, born Mar 1888); Herman (son, born Dec 1890) and Thad (son born March 1894). Dock was a nickname, the real initial's being F.P. I found Asbery, Cornelia, Dock and his wife and possibly 2 children buried in Center Grove Cemetery. It appears there may be no date on the stones of Asberry and Cornelia. There's a stone for F.P Evans, Jr. 1916-1917; Stones for F.P. Dock Evans 1886-1941 and Vera Smith Evans 1895-1973; and Mary Katherine Evans - 1923-1924.
