Oscar Alexander Brown was my great-grandfather as well. Oscar Harmon was my grandfather.

James Madison Brown (Jim Matt), b. Mar 3, 1835, d. Jun 21, 1919, married Margaret Dorsey, b. Jun 13, 1836 in Georgia (supposedly). She was the 3rd of his four wives. I haven't got much info on her but plan to continue researching her. There was a Dorsey Creek and a Dorsey Cemetary in Titus County.

James Madison Brown's father was Dr. Alexander Brown, b. April 12, 1803, in South Carolina,d. Aug. 26, 1875 in Titus County, his mother was Sarah H. Marshall, b. Nov. 27, 1802 in South Carolina, d. Dec. 10, 1889 in Titus County.

Alexander Brown's father was John Brown, b. 1784 in Charleston or Ireland (?), his mother was Anna Lahney Anderson, b. 1779 in Virginia. I got that info from another cousin who has more info on the family than I ever thought possible. I have been unable to go back any further. Check out website on Pettis County Pioneers.
