Handley was on a site now in eastern Fort Worth in central Tarrant County. It developed when the Texas and Pacific Railway arrived there in 1876; a post office opened that year and was named for Confederate major James Madison Handley. The city of Ft. Worth annexed Handley in 1946.

I think I am a few decades shy as most that knew him are elderly or deceased. The information you provided was the same I already had. I do appreciate your help though!

You will find a family tree for Lawrence Oscar Haggard (1928-1966) here:

http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/w/i/l/Laverne--Je...

It is not my tree and I am not related.

I also found the following:
Lawrence was a salesman at Kinney Shoe Store at the time of his death. He died at the age of 38 in an auto accident. He was the passenger in a pick up truck involved in a one vehicle accident in Fort Worth.
lol Yes I am sure I have pretty much have all the Drakes and Grays. We use to keep in contact with Jack Gray which is a nephew of Otis, but he died in 2008. I really just need to locate Candice which is Bertha's great niece. I am sure she may have more info on Bertha and pictures. I am sure Candice married but unable to locate that married name at this time. Clifford was married to a well known family in Tulsa and her son Tom died in 1999, I believe his wife is still alive and still living in Tulsa from what I can find. Yes Oklahoma and Texas seem to be difficult!!

You're an excellent researcher! Every direction I turn, you've "beat me to the punch"!(lol) Thought I'd lookup surname Drake but you've already found Rebecca Mariah(Rolls) Drake's memorial. How about Francis Bartow Drake (16 Aug 1861 - 12 Mar 1927)? He was one of the younger brothers of William and Wilbur. He died in Upshur County, TX and that make research easier. Oklahoma is difficult, even for recent events!

Also Otis did remarry a Helen Hope Mcilvain and they had one daughter together. We have contacted her but she wanted nothing to do with it. Unsure of her reasons why, they were either unaware that Otis was married w/ 2 kids before or there is bad blood there. According to my grandma Geneva, Otis just walked out one day and never came back.

Yes I am in contact with some relatives in Oklahoma, California and Texas but they do not have anymore information from what I already have.

These have been passed down for several generations and to form very few are named.
I have a lot of letters and other stuff also. perhaps at a family reunion we can compare notes and photos.
Jack suggested I take up this challenge on Ban and his line of family. They had 2 children, Geneva Gray and Edith "Peggy" Gray.
Bertha was buried in Greenwood Cemetery Aug 12,1931. She lived in Tarrant County from about 1915 till the day she died in 1931.

If any one comes across any info please contact me. Thank You. Kristin

Though Henry died in the homocide/suicide (word was that he shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself (Johnnie and Ernest were the only two children that I know of that were taken in by George Washington Wright (and Ernest's child was later taken in by George also)...if the death was around 1916, maybe the family spoke of it later as Nevitt grew and the story was shared and passed on....
I can't seem to find George in the 1940 census to see who was living with them...or where they lived - Dallas or Tarrant County? Nobody knows much of Henry's wife (Willie or Millie --- if the Native American story is true -- another stone to be overturned.

This is getting to be very interesting! Alrighty then! George Washington Wright's death certificate witnessed by Mrs. Leonard E. Wright aka Dora Lee Wright (daughter) (9 Aug 1925 - 30 Mar 1975). Dora's youngest sister, Georgia Eugene Wright, born 5 Sep 1936, wed (28 Jul 1954) then divorced (19 Jul 1985) Ottis Franklin Collins. Three birth records for this couple: Cynthia Louise (13 Feb 1958), Ottis Franklin Jr (28 Apr 1959), and George C. (20 May 1965). Cynthia Louise Collins/Gerald Lee Frahm listed as parents of: Eric Ryan (10 May 1983) and Jennipher Lyn (26 Mar 1985). There are public record addresses for Georgia E. Collins and Cynthia Frahm traceable via birthdates. In a nutshell, there's a public telephone listing for Cynthia Frahm in North Richland Hills, TX. Didn't find a death listing for her mother thus guessing she's still among the living? If so, surely she will be able to shed more "light" on your quest?

Yes - I am the person who posted the note near the picture - found the grave - what I am wondering is ---is there any information as to the story about the double homicide and Henry's wife. I identified him as son of John and Angeline as I stated in the last posting. Apparently he was either married to nor not to a native American woman, yet to be identified, and she was also shot in this double homicide. There was a newspaper article about the story, so I am trying to locate a date of death and information as to what happened - possibly a copy of that article. The death occurred around 1914-1916

This is not the same Henry Wright - Henry Wright was born in 1887 to John Stanton Wright and John "Johnny" Angeline Touchstone. Henry married Willie Millie Mae (unknown maiden)name and they had two children known of (Johnny and Ernest). Henry was William Thomas Wright's brother (born 1878. Henry died in the double homicide around 1914-1916. Who do you say was standing near the cemetery stones? I am the person who posted the note near that one you sent to me. There was rumor that two other babies were killed during the homicide also. William Thomas Wright could have been sanding near the stone in the cemetery, if he is who you are speaking of, because it was his brother.

Buttin' in! Believe she's asking for Henry (ca. 1888) that was brother of your William Thomas Wright? He may have been the Henry with wife, Millie, in 1910 Dallas-Precinct 2-0109-Image 15? Supposing he died prior to WWI Draft Registration 1917/1918 'cause none found? There's a findagrave memorial in Old Kit Cemetery of Dallas County. Someone has identified him as son of John/Angeline. That's the same grave in the url from another of your responses.

So it is confirmed since they died when he was young for him to know where it was that it is them.

If you have any other information about them, I would appreciate it.

Not sure how you'll find info regarding Wolcott & Blandin. However, there's numerous evidence of William F. Blandin. There are findagrave memorial for he and Cordelia in Tarrant County. Also, there are online death certificates for daughters: Susan Rouse (15 Mar 1847 - 2 Dec 1927) and Sylvia Helen Doughty (18 Mar 1851 - 6 May 1949). In my opinion, the only additional documentation needed is the marriage certificate for her second wife, Cordelia?

Hi,
I am not familiar with Texas genealogy. I am trying to find more information about above WMF Blandon, who was on the 1880 census of Forth Worth (Belknap) listed as a Stock Raiser.
His wife Cordelia was born in Ohio, and he was born in Vermont, but lived in Illinois for a while.
I think he is same as
William F. Blandin (Wolcott & Blandin) res Corner Evans and Second
Is there any way I can find more information about Wolcott and Blandin, I think they were involved in moving great cattle herds up North.
Thanks

The certificate is online https://familysearch.org/ If you are new to this site, you'll have to logon and setup a "free" user account to access/print. Lizzie Hammer(s) is a mystery. There were other Hammer(s) in Fannin and Hunt Counties but I did not find her as a single lady. Also did not find her in Tennessee. Beginning to think Hammer(s) was her surname from a prior marriage? Too, Wyley's brother Monroe Jackson Perry relocated to Texas. W. P. Perry wed Lizzie Hammers, 11 Oct 1887 in Fannin County. That's the same place his brother Monroe died 16 Jun 1938.
