...and here I am, fifteen years later, trying to figure out who Nettie Ida Kitchens' parents were. She is my sons 3X great grandmother. If you all can help, please let me know. I can tell you that findagrave shows a picture of Charles Bartholomew Kitchens' grave in Roff, OK and there is a note regarding his first marriage and subsequent marriage to an Indian woman. The Ada (OK) newspaper mentions that Nettie Ida Sparks was of Indian descent, as does one of the censuses she is listed on, as are her children. Oddly enough, her granddaughter (my son's great grandmother) who lives with her is listed as white. If only they would have chronicled their history! Anyway, thank you for laying the groundwork!
