New research shows mother of Jennie May (Mamie) Howard Tasker was Mary Alice Phelps, b. 2 Aug 1864 in TX and d. before 1898. Father was possibly James Howard per a Tarrant County, TX marriage license dated 30 Oct 1879, but have been unable to find more information on him.

Mary Alice Phelps' parents were William Hudspith Phelps, b.13 May 1824 in Logan, Edgar, IL, and Margaret Ann (Anna) Boicourt, b. 31 Jan 1829 in Clark, IN.

Searching for further information on James(?) Howard in Tarrant or McLennan counties, or in OK. Nothing has turned up in the 1880 census.
