I have exact DOD (Feb 13 1903) and it's in Ft. Worth; confirmed from obit and gravestone. However, name (and variations) do not appear in online TX Death Index. Burial was in Omaha, NE. I know 1903 is the "landmark" year for recording vitals.

Should I try the State or County Vital Stats? A rep at the county said I should contact the State as the County may or may not have the records.
I understand the library in Ft. Worth only has the online index.
