James Ramsey Skiles and Stella E. Wood had a son (JR) born 5-17-1926 in Somervell Co, and also a daughter, Jimmie Lavada, born 3-21-1928 in Somervell Co. Stella's father was Geroge Wood and her mother was a Glass. both would have been born around 1880. Stella died about 1929, giving birth to a second son, who died at birth. Does anyone know anything about any of these people? They have been a dead end to me for about 20 years. Thanks in advance,

Vic Harding

I have a photo of James Ramsey Skiles' tombstone from the Nancy Smith Cemetery in Somervell County, Tx.; however, I do not know who his father is nor do I have any info on his wife or family. James' data off the stone: B: 9 Dec 1891 D: 29 Jan 1967. Other tombstone data: PFC CO B 360 INF 90 DIV WORLD WAR 1. I have a lot of info on the Skiles family, and if I knew his father's name, could link into the Skiles ancestry that I have in my database.

Hope this helps.

I dug a little deeper in my database, and I have Geroge W. Wood and Lydia Glass Wood sharing a tombstone in the Nancy Smith Cemetery. I've attached the photo of their tombstone. For Stella their daughter, I have a photo of her tombstone, but it is not scanned. The data: B: Sept. 19, 1902 D: Jan. 17, 1929. I looked for a photo of a tombstone for her infant son, but I do not have one. However, I don't know if one exists or not.

I did not have Stella's maiden name nor to whom she was married, so this has put some pieces together for me as well.

Harold:
I know there were a number of sites which had Skiles info on them, one I think was yours. Do you have any idea what the addresses of some of these sites are:

James Rumsey was the child of William Mann and Emma Choate.

Thanks,
Vic
