I am working to obtain a historical marker for the John Buckley Cemetery and would be very interested in any information anyone might have on John b. c 1787 VA d. Shelby Co. TX or his son Tyre b. c. 1815 MS d. c. 1888 Shelby Co. TX who immigrated to Texas in 1822. I have found his land grant from Mexico that is in Spanish and I am having it translated at this time. I also found where he was a veteran of the Texas Revolution and fought in the Siege of 1835. He may have also fought at the Battle of Nacogdoches but this has not been proven to my satisfaction.
