I am attempting to locate a death record of my Grandfather John Henry McElyea who died in 1905 and is buried in the old Snyder Cemetary a long with others of my family. We know that he died in Scurry County but the Court House told us they have no record of his death. My eldest sister said they lived on a farm northeast of Snyder close to Borden County, so it is possible that the doctor who attended him may have come from there. But they have told us to try the funeral home in Snyder that they should have a record, this is a dilema for all my siblings and I can remember is the Odom funeral home and for a few years one owned by a Mr. Maples that was in the early 40 era. If anyone can help us obtain a death record we would appreciate it so much or just help to find out how we can obtain one would be great.
