My Russell family starts with Joseph Russell born around 1829 in Tennessee. From what I've heard he moved to Texas with seven of his brothers in the early 1850s. I'm still trying to figure out who his brothers were. Here's his descendants list:

Joseph and Linnie (Scott) Russell (b. 1835 Ark) married around 1850 in Newton County, Missouri. There children were:

Mary Jane Russell born 1850 in Missouri
Caroline Russell born 1855 in Texas
Cornelius Alexander Russell born before 1855 in Texas
John William Russell born 1857 in Texas
Christopher Columbus Russel born 1860 in Texas
Amanda Russell born 1862 in Texas
Martha and Levi Russell born 1867 in Texas

Basically there are tons of Linnies, Margarets, Marys, Marthas, Levis, Mamies, etc...in the family! If you give me an email address, I will send you my GED.COM file with all of my family history.

The Russells lived in San Saba, Collin County, all over the place in Southern Texas. The surnames that are in the family(that we know) are Russell, Scott, Armour, Watkins, not to mention the married names.
