Where exactly is/was White Point?

I'm trying to figure out where White Point in San Patricio was located. My g-g-g-grandfather, Levi Bitterman, was buried somewhere there in 1913 but moved to Rose Hill in Corpus Christi in 1932. If anyone knows what cemeteries existed in that area at that time, I'd appreciate that information. I'm trying to track down the old cemeteries so I can find out if my g-g-g-g-grandmother, Anais Rachal, may have been buried in White Point as well.

My aunt and uncle live at White Point. It is located between Taft and Portland right along the Corpus Christi Bay. Does this help?

I am also descended from Levi Bitterman. His daughter Emma Bitterman married W.W. Wright. Their daughter Mabel Wright married James P. Luby. Their son James O. Luby was my father.

Have you have received an answer to your question? I would very much like to know the answer also.

Information that I have seen indicates that the Rachal family was in Liberty County, Texas, and, before that, in Cloutierville, Louisiana.

My great-grandmother Pearl was your grandmother Mabel's sister. I'm not sure exactly where the Rachal ranch at White Point was located, but there was a family cemetery there and based on the obituary abstracts on the Corpus Christi Library website I believe Anais Rachal was buried there. Levi and Esilla (Rachal) Bitterman are both buried at Rose Hill in Corpus Christi, however. They moved to Nueces County from Liberty in the 1880s, and before that the Rachals did come from Cloutierville in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana

I very much appreciate the information. I intend to make a trip to Corpus Christi to look for Levi and Esilla Bitterman's graves in Rose Hill. I hope more information on the White Point ranch comes to light.
I have two letters that Emma Bitterman wrote. One is dated April 11, 1935, from Corpus Christi and is quite lovely, thanking Mabel at length for having sent a cake for her birthday. "I recd. the cake, it was not broken at all, surely do thank you for it, Frank said it was the best cake he had eaten in a long time, said he was glad I had a birthday. so whoever made the cake can feel very proud. and all who ate any of it said it was fine. Ghaskye & Henry, Edgar and Alma came and had cake and coffee with me and I sent Alex and Claire's little boys some, and yesterday I took Fred a piece and had cake and coffee with them so you can see how much pleasure I got out of it and still have some of it. ... Everyone is all right, and the babies are fine [underlined] and Bille is still improving. Pearl came for a little visit this morning and said all her folks and Hary and family are well. ...Lovingly, Mamma" The other was written from Corpus Chrisit on April 18, 1944, to one of Mabel's daughters and is signed "Lovingly Big Mother"
In a letter dated August 12, 1945, from my father to his mother Mabel from the Pacific, he wrote: "I wish that your mother could have lived to see the peace, and even though she didn't I am glad that she didn't get to hear of the use of the atomic bombs ..."
Mabel's name was spelled Mabel Claire Wright. She was baptized on May 19, 1934, at Corpus Christi Cathedral.
I have a copy of the genealogy of W W. Wright, which is very long.
The descendants of one of Pearl and Mabel's sisters live in Houston; I am acquainted with them.

Anais Palmire Rachal (nee Compere) was the mother of a significant settler/businessman in San Patricio County - Darius Cyriaque Rachal. There is a decent biography of Daruis' life on "The Handbook of Texas Online".

Several Rachal family members (including Darius and Anais) are buried in Rosita Cemetery at White Point (aka Rosita, Texas). Please check out my work at Rosita Cemetery on the Find-A-Grave website. This site is a useful companion to Ancestry.
