My ancestors came to Nacogdoches County in 1839. Seems the area was Mt. enterprise. Did this used to be Nacogdoches County before it was in Rusk? I have seen a Nacogdoches Headright book that has my ancestor in it receiving 640 acres(we knew about that) but his brother is listed in this book as well also getting 640 acres, which I have never been able to find anything else about. can anyone help me where I might find more info on the other 640 acres my ancestors brother received. The surname is Sory. John Sory came to Nacogdoches County in 1839 with his wife Jane Catherine Haltom and her parents. John Sory's brother listed in the headright book of Nacogdoches County is James Lucas Sory. we never knew he came here with them. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
